DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN ECONOMIC AGENTS: Trade Policy, Exchange Rates and Growth

This book is the second one of “Discussions between Agents” series. The key words; exchange rates, trade policy and growth are totally related each other. At the beginning of the 1980s, most of the world countries together with Turkey began to open up to the rest of the world. This was the end of the protectionism so trade policy literature has developed since these years. The main reason for this liberalization is to increase the role of market mechanism in the allocation of resources. Apart from this general principle, behind the financial liberalization movements in developed and developing countries, each country has its own specific reasons. Debt instability, unemployment problem, financial crisis and trade competitiveness are some important issues. In this context, the articles mentioned in the following paragraphs are discussed together. There are seven valuable works in the book.
